About me

Hi, my name is Chris and this is my blog. Here is a little bit about me:

I was born in Toronto, Canada in 1967 and moved to Ottawa in 1978 and then finally moved to Vancouver in 1993 where I still reside. I was raised inside a faith based worldview but left that in my 30s and now look for the truth through evidence. Star Wars had a significant effect on me as a child as did the music and movies of the 1980s. We got our first home computer in 1981 (a ZX81) and I have been programming/tinkering ever since. I married my beautiful wife in 1994 and we celebrated our 20th anniversary in 2014 on the Danube River with my dad. I started my career as a software toolsmith in 1994 and embarked on a career change in 2009, becoming a Laughter Yoga leader and Career Development workshop facilitator.

And here is a little bit about this blog:

I started it in 2002 on Blogger as it was the fashionable thing to do at the time. Back then it was called “Topher’s Thoughts.” I updated it for a while and then Facebook came along and it went dormant for several years. In 2015 I resurrected it as I want to control and own my data and not leave it inside the walled garden of a large corporation. It is a place where I post my thoughts, finds, and creations.
